SPJ Northeast High School Summer Journalism Institute
During a three-day long summer program at Emerson College, students will learn from professional journalists and journalism professors and create original work. Open to high school rising juniors and seniors. Application due March 20. Hunter College High School Journalism Conference Hunter college high school is hosting a free journalism conference on March 23. Guest speakers include those from The New Yorker, The New York Times, MSNBC, PBS and more. PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs Summer Academy Open to all current High School Students, this nine-day free program allows students to connect with media professionals, one-on-one coaching, and hands-on video journalism experience. Application due March 24. The Hearst High School Media Internship This is a paid summer internship for rising 11th and 12th-grade students. During this program, interns will take a deep dive into media literacy and explore how the words, sounds, and images they encounter every day make an impression on them. Application due April 5 at 5:00 PM. Youth Journalism and The 2026 World Cup The Centre for Sport & Human Rights Invites Teens, who will be 15-17 in September 2024, And who are interested in sports, the media, and social issues to apply to this Youth Media Journalism Initiative. Teens will experience; training on reporting the human rights dimensions of sports, Opportunities to submit stories for publication, and interactive sessions with leaders from the media industry. Application due April 19. Earn Money Making TikToks Youth Cast Media Group is looking for creative high school-aged content creators to produce social media posts for its Instagram and TikTok accounts. Accounts cover mental health, criminal justice, distracted driving, and overall health and wellness. You will be PAID $45 per approved post for your work. Application rolling.
