The Democracy Group is accepting applications for its podcast fellowship, a 6-week remote program for young leaders who want to start a podcast and build an audience to strengthen democracy, engage diverse viewpoints, and bridge political divides. This year, numerous scholastic journalism organizations and newspaper advisers are working together to create an intervisitation series. The goal is to have students from various newsrooms around the city visit a host site to learn about that school's newspaper, its work flow, its current pieces in progress, and more. Open to student journalists, the Solutions Journalism Network is launching the Youth Building and Belonging Fellowship. Ten U.S. journalists will have the opportunity to cover what’s helping young people flourish psychologically, socially and emotionally. Youth Environmental Press Team supports middle and high school journalists writing about the climate crisis and other environmental issues. They offer paid opportunities to publish student reporting and currently have paid leadership roles open that involve writing, editing, outreach, fundraising, and social media. The Financial Times is seeking Student Advocates to represent the views of students to the Financial Times so they can better understand student views, vision, and ambitions. 10th-12th graders are eligible, teachers must nominate students.
