NYJW Teen Journalism Fellowship In this paid fellowship, participants (ages 15-18) will be reporting on news within their communities through the lens of a Jewish teen. Participants will be provided training and support in writing your article/multi-media piece. Application due September 10th. The MediaWise Teen Fact-Checking Network MediaWise is looking for middle and high school students interested in fact-checking social media misinformation. This paid position includes; pitching potential misinformation on social media, writing fact-check scripts, and recording the fact-check for social media channels. Application due July 8th. The Columbia Political Review’s High School Essay Contest Submit your essay, 700-12000 words, on one country’s current election and the most important issue at stake. submissions will be judged on the following; clarity, concision, strength of argument, and use of evidence. Submissions due July 1st. CLARIFY News Reporting Internship for NYC High School Students - Fall 2024 This program offers training in public service reporting and news writing. Participants will collaborate in teams, and under the guidance of an instructor, receive training to report on a public service story. Student work has in the past been published in City Limits. Sessions will be held virtually two days a week, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with some on-site field trips scheduled throughout the program. Students will receive a stipend. Applications due September 9th.
