The Student Advisory Team is a virtual experience where students meet with professionals, connect with peers across the country, and help guide SRLâs editorial strategy and the topics they cover for the following school year. Prior journalism experience is not necessary. All team members will receive a $100 stipend for full participation. Sadie Nash Project: ELLA Fellowship Program

Open to: Young women and gender-expansive youth ages 18-23
ELLA Fellows develop and implement a community focused project with intentional guidance from Sadie Nash Leadership Project. Fellows conceptualize a project and are provided with the resources and support to implement, analyze, evaluate, and learn from it. The Fellowship includes a monthly stipend. Through a journalistic, hybrid fellowship that runs September to December, selected students provide a story idea and receive training and support to publish an article. On The Record, the new youth publication of The New York Amsterdam News, is now accepting story submissions from teen journalists. Whether youâre an experienced reporter or writing your very first story, they want to hear what young people are seeing, questioning, and uncovering in their communities. They are especially seeking submissions from teenagers in New York, but welcome story pitches from young people across the country, particularly those that highlight Black, African American, Afro-Latinx, and other communities of color.
